when i received the pens with no instructions i had no idea how the lights worked and was ready to report that they were not working and then i went in and watched the video about taking out the white tab and yep they work great.. i think they should just have a few lines on the package somewhere telling about the white disk.

Yes, the batteries are included inside the cap
Please note the batteries are located inside each pen. Before using, please remove the small circular disc between the batteries which prevents battery waste in transit. Sorry for any confusion.

I love the idea of these pens with flashlight/laser pointer but the add says yes, three AG3 batteries are included. NO, they are not. Very disappointed to have paid this amount for a set of plain pens. I bought two sets and did not get a single battery! Could not say how the flashlight or pointer work without batteries. If I had batteries to test them, they may have earned a 5 star rating.

Fun Pens!
These pens work as indicated. They are very fun to have around in my house as when I write and my kitty tries to get my attention by batting at the pen, I just take the laser portion of it, move it around the floor and wall, and she goes nuts!
When my nephews and nieces came over the other day, they were crazy about the pens too!
