Starting with Mickey McGuire in 1927, Mickey quickly rose to the top of his profession after Louis B. Mayer, the head of MGM Studios, signed him to a contract. His first MGM film was Manhattan Melodrama and by 1939, Mickey was the top box office actor in the United States.

His best-known films include A Midsummer Night's Dream, Boys Town, Babes in Arms and the hit Andy Hardy series. He also starred with many Hollywood leading ladies including Lana Turner, Anne Rutherford and Judy Garland. In all, Mickey appeared in over 200 movies. In fact, Mickey was still working in 2007, with the release of Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller.

In the 1950's, Mickey turned his talents to television, such as Playhouse 90: The Comedian, appearances on The Red Skelton Show and many others. Mickey starred in Hey Mulligan, as an aspiring young actor working as a page at the mythical International Broadcasting Company in Hollywood. Mulligan lives with his parents, played by Regis Toomey and Claire Carleton. His best friend and girlfriend played by Joey Forman and Carla Balenda work at IBS with Mulligan as he navigates the ins and outs of show business and monkey business at a large television studio.

One of the most enduring and engaging of American actors, Mickey Rooney stands far above the crowd. Although he stood about five feet tall, he is one of Hollywood's all time box office stars and according to Sir Laurence Olivier, '... the best actor America has produced.'

Although Hey Mulligan was scheduled against The Honeymooners and was cancelled after one season, we have put together 30 of the original episodes in this special three DVD set, plus bonus extras that will make you laugh and keep coming back for more. They include Mickey on The Red Skelton Show, Mickey's movie trailers and an exclusive interview with Mickey Rooney himself, highlighting his own life story.
