So what is a QR code anyway?
A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode, which has a URL (website address), text, or other information embedded within. It can be read by a QR code scanner, including QR scanner smartphone apps. You may see these codes online, magazines, or other printed materials. Most will take you to a website when you scan it.
To read the QR codes, all you have to do is download one of many apps from your app store. Your smartphone may already have one preinstalled, but some other popular apps are RedLaser, AT&T Code Scanner, and Google Shopper.
